Deadline Extended: Voluntary Personal Furlough (VPF)
Dear Spirit AFA Members,
AFA leadership pushed for and secured an extension to the deadline to submit for the Voluntary Personal Furlough (VPF). The new deadline is Monday, September 29, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST (noon).
As we have continued to communicate, we encourage all Flight Attendants to review all available options and current circumstances carefully. Please keep in mind that while the furlough may not directly impact you at this time, it is crucial to recognize that the furlough process will affect everyone:
Those who elect VPF
Those who are selected by seniority
Those who remain active, as many current lineholders may return to reserve status, which will shift flying and schedules across the system.
To ensure clarity and transparency, AFA is collecting questions from members. Please send your questions to: furlough@spiritafa.com. These questions will be answered by the Company, and a comprehensive FAQ will be published by Spirit. Once it is released, AFA will share it through a follow-up E-line and post it on our website at www.spiritafa.org.
