We are delivering the hardest news of our lives that Spirit will permanently cease operations at 3:00 AM Eastern Time on May 2, 2026. We have a lot to address together and we will. Our Union is with us now and always. We will have our daily Zoom update call still at noon EST today, May 2, 2026. For every Spirit Flight Attendant in the operation, know that you will get to your base or your home. Every Flight Attendant in the operation will have their hotel and/or a flight to return home accommodated. Crew Scheduling will contact every Flight Attendant in the operation before taking any incoming calls. Our @spirit.com company emails will have updates and reservations to return home. We will also work to ensure anyone away from home on travel is able to return. We will continue to update information at https://afacwa.org/spirit_resources/

Spirit management is working to answer questions and will remain available for the coming week.

We are in contact already with other airlines about how to support Spirit Flight Attendants. We know everyone has questions about benefits, what’s next, when we can expect in last paychecks, and where we have the option to go. We are busy putting together all of the questions to make sure we can get you all of the answers.

While the country has had a blast making Spirit the butt of the joke, we’ve built a strength together that could withstand anything that anyone throws at us. And that is no joke. This has been the honor of our life to fly with all of you and we are with you now. Spirit is in our blood and that makes us family.
