Today, 1,301 of the best Spirit AFA Flight Attendants will be forced to step away from flying. It’s another marker in a painful year as we navigate bankruptcy and fight for the future of all of our careers and our airline.

Being a Flight Attendant isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle. Trips are a rhythm we build our lives around. From the early morning wake-ups to layovers in other cities, the unique ebb and flow of our work becomes part of who we are. Flying with our fellow crewmembers and for this airline is even more unique. These involuntary furloughs hit the heart of our identity and livelihood.

You might not be on the line with the rest of us tomorrow, but you will always be a part of the Spirit AFA family. Those of us left on the line are fighting so hopefully this goodbye is only temporary or until you earn your wings at another carrier and join us back in the skies.
